Oatmeal With Mixed Berries Recipe


  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon honey (to sweeten the taste)

  • 1 cup mixture of berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts) for garnish

  • A pinch of salt

Prepare the Berries:

    • Wash the mixed berries and chop larger berries like strawberries if desired.

Cook Oats:

    • Combine the rolled oats, milk, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan.

    • Stirring the mixture into a slow boil over moderate heat, stirring occasionally.

    • Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the oats are tender and the mixture has thickened.

Add Sweetener and Flavor:

    • Stir in the vanilla extract and sweeten with honey or maple syrup. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.

Add Berries:

    • Add the mixed berries to the oatmeal, reserving a handful for topping.

    • Stir in the berries gently, allowing them to warm up in the oatmeal.

Optional: Add Chia Seeds:

    • If you like, add chia seeds for an extra nutritional boost. Stir them into the oatmeal and let it sit for a minute or two.


    • Once the oatmeal is cooked to your desired consistency and the berries are incorporated, remove it from heat.


    • Serve the oatmeal in bowls and top with the reserved berries and chopped nuts.


    • Drizzle with a bit more honey or maple syrup if desired and enjoy your delicious oatmeal with mixed berries!
