Covid 19 New Variant of Concern:
The United States has reported their daily Covid-19 patients to about 34,000. At this stage when Covid-19 is entering its 4th consecutive year, its mutated genomes are changing day by day with its symptoms. It is very dangerous that the spreading power of covid 19 new variant is much more than its previous one. Moreover, the above-mentioned number of covid 19 new variant patients seems to be inappropriate because home-tested patients are not included. Currently, covid 19 new variant XBB.1.5 is dominant(about 86%) in the US followed by BQ.1.1 (about 7%). These two covid 19 variants are most infectious than the initial mother genome.
It means as time passes away, the Covid-19 virus does mutate its genomic sequence which becomes more lethal and dangerous to human beings. This is the main reason behind the China covid-19 patient surge in past December 2022.
What is the new strain of covid-19 called
Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.5 brief description
Omicron variant XBB.1.5, popularly known as Kraken, is spreading at a faster rate than the previous variants. It is the most transmissible strain to be known.
Covid-19 symptoms change with every variant. The primary symptom for Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5 is quite similar to previous variants and can be found below:
Soreness in the throat
Sneezing
gut related sickness
Nose runny
Blocked nose
Cough with phlegm
Headache
Dry cough
Change in voice
Muscle pain
Modification in our sense of smell
Action Plan on the New Covid-19 Variant
Maximum people are covered by the 2 nd dose, with many more people being covered with the booster dose. The new variant is also derived from an older one, i.e. Omicron. The Omicron virus is most dangerous to humans who have not developed antibodies. This indicates that the Omicron new variant, which is derived from China, is not as effective as it was in China.
Differences in Covid-19 variants/symptoms
Covid-19 | Omicron variant BA.5 (covid 19 new variant) | Omicron variant of BF.7 ( covid 19 new variant) |
Fever or chills | Fatigue | Sore throat |
Cough | Headache | Runny nose |
A shortness of breath | Sore throat | Blocked nose |
Fatigue | Fever | Sneezing |
Body pain | Digestive disorder | You can have a good cough without any phlegm |
Headache | Cough | Dry cough |
Loss of sense of smell | Muscle pain | Headache |
Sore throat | | Horse voice |
Congestion or a runny nose | | Muscle aches and pains in the body |
Nausea or vomiting | | Modification in our sense of smell |
Diarrhea | | |
Is there a new strain that is more dangerous?
The modification to the Omicron variant’s sequence is the new variant. If we adhere to the Covid-19 proper behavior, then there is no danger from the new variant.
Covid-19 acceptable behavior includes hand sanitization and maintaining 2 feet distance between two people. Wear a mask and get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Covid-19 new variant and flu symptoms are very similar. A person who experiences the above symptoms should seek out a Covid-19 diagnosis test in addition to flu testing to confirm it.
The Coronavirus pandemic has entered in 4th year and now it is showing its long covid effects on human beings. In between past three years we as the first dose, booster dose, and prevention dose to tackle this contagious disease. But as the day passes away, the interior structure and post covid symptoms are changing continuously. Now long covid effects are considered to be an umbrella under which many new symptoms are joining the hands of the initial infectious disease. These symptoms are very similar to other common diseases and are difficult to distinguish. Some are described below:
Long Covid Headache:
The first common symptom that occurs is a long covid headache, although, the patient is fully recovered from covid 19. This may include a foggy and continuous headache with the development of a mental disorder. This implies that although, covid 19 has impacted human life with its harmful virus and post covid life is not as easy as before. It is stressful to think about post covid effects and it also causes headaches. Long covid headache treatment includes a full night’s sleep, avoiding alcohol, staying stress-free, eating in small amounts, and staying hydrated.
Can you develop Asthma after Covid:
As per American Association, 37 million American population is infected with asthma or lungs related diseases. As covid-19 virus attacks on breathing system, the severity of lungs related diseases increased. Covid-19 increases the severity of normal symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. Coronavirus impacts the oxygen-carrying capacity of the lungs.
Long Covid Vertigo:
First of all, we will understand the cause of vertigo and dizziness. Dizziness is primarily diagnosed as either a problem within the vestibular system or outside of the vestibular system. The change in position and proper motion is judged by the vestibular system. The Vestibular system is mainly comprised of the vestibular organ inside your ear, the part of the brain which processes the information, and nerves that connect these two areas. Any problem occurred with these vestibular systems results in dizziness or vertigo. The affected area from inside may be individual or a combination. The affected area outside the vestibular system may be other body systems like the blood system, circulation system, or nervous system. Long covid dizziness occurred due to inflammation inside the vestibular system that creates dizziness-related symptoms. Decreased blood flow inside the vestibular system will also cause the long covid dizziness.
Naltrexone Long Covid:
After 3 years of post covid, there is no drug approved for long covid at present. However, research has been carried out and antihistamines and antidepressants are proposed as a potential therapy for long covid effects. A phase II small-scale study on low-dose naltrexone has been carried out and its efficacy on long covid symptoms is underway. Naltrexone is an opiate receptor antagonist at a high dose (50 mg) but has unique immune modulation activity at a lower dose (1 to 5 mg). This activity may be due to inhibitory action on receptor-4 inflammatory signaling and can be used for mitigation of post covid symptoms.
Long Covid Supplements:
Covid 19 is a viral disease that weakens the immune system and becomes the most burdensome legacy after the pandemic. This is called post covid syndrome and affects every age group people. Specific treatment for this post covid syndrome is currently unavailable and we should boost our immune system to fight these pandemic aftereffects along with vaccination. Research hasn’t clearly shown that supplements for long covid have helped us to prevent or tackle the post covid effects. Covid appropriate behavior, vaccination, and medication are currently in use to get rid of this dangerous disease but for post covid symptoms we have to strengthen our immune system much stronger. Amino acids play a vital role in our body’s different functioning and performing activities. So it is required to add amino acid-containing food and supplements to our daily diet plan.
Conclusion:
Covid-19 and covid 19 new variants are viruses that spread disease between people who come in contact with each other and follow the modern lifestyle. Covid 19 new variant is more dangerous than its previous variant and it is better to follow the covid-19 appropriate behavior to stay safe. Then no variant will cause harm to anybody as we don’t come in contact with infectious people and our immunity will be stronger after taking the booster dose. Covid 19 new variant has new and serious long covid symptoms which can be treated with vaccination and strengthening the immune system with exercise and adding amino acids ingredients to our daily diet plan.
